The company was established by Barbadian business owner Kenneth Tucker of Atwell Dalgliesh Co. (Barbados) Ltd. Along with 3 other prominent St. Lucian bussiness men. Atwell Dalgliesh Co. (St.Lucia) Ltd. opened it’s doors on June 26 , 1974 at the corner of High & Peynier Street, Castries, St. Lucia.

In the early years, Atwell Dalgliesh’s primary inventory included a wide range of disposable hotel and restaurant supplies which was sold island wide to hotels, restaurants, and supermarkets. As the business expanded, the company explored other opportunities and soon ventured into offering chemical pharmaceuticals, insecticides and hair care products. Within three years of inception, Atwell Dalgliesh St. Lucia began island-wide distribution of its expanded product base.

Atwell Dalgliesh relocated to La Pansee Road in Castries, St. Lucia in 2002, and is currently led by Managing Director, Karen C. Hippolyte, daughter of Philip Hippolyte.  A. F. Valmont has remained the only long standing Director, represented by his daughter Althea Valmont.
